With a big storm traveling up the east coast (not predicted to come as far up as albany) it seemed like a good time to address how Terra deals with snow on a sunday. In general, we only cancel church if it is really bad in Troy itself. The reason for that is that we are a regional church, we draw from as far north as saratoga, and as far south as Ravena. It might be bad where you are, but it might be fine for others. So, we base it on Troy.
Also, we have to make a decision by 5:30AM on a sunday since our first volunteers begin to arrive at 6:30AM. This might occasionally result in a bad call one way or another. We’ve only cancelled twice, one was a good call, and the other turned day turned out to be fine. There has been a couple days where, in retrospect, we should have cancelled.
When we do cancel, the first places it will hit will be the Blog, the Facebook Fan Page (search for it, if you are not already on it), and The City (launching January 10th). This year, it will also appear on local TV stations and web listings.
