This coming monday October 20th, Terra Nova will host another Acts 29 Regional Gathering. This is something we do a few times a year as the regional center church for the Acts 29 Church Planters Network. Each event takes a theme and explores that theme utilizing pastors from our region and beyond. The theme for this regional event is DISCIPLESHIP IN THE CHURCH. As I write this blog, there are 85 pastors from NY, NJ, MA, NH, ME, PA, DE, NC, KY, and even a few from Canada. I feel like I’m missing a state or two, but you get the point. People drive in from all over for this 5 hour event. It turns out that Albany is really centrally located for this kind of stuff. Here is how the events go: We start at 12NOON with a simple lunch, then a band leads in worship, sometimes it’s a band from Terra Nova, sometimes not. This time around, it happens to be Wayfaring Stranger, one of Terra Nova’s newest bands. By 1PM, we are into the first session. We fit 4 sessions in by 5PM, and then we kick everyone out. A huge percentage of those who come to the event will stay for dinner and drinks at Brown’s Brewing Company next door. 

Some people come for the sessions. Some pastors  just really enjoy interacting with some other like minded pastors from around the Northeast. Pastors of churches with names like “Missio Dei, Liberti, Dialogue Church, Mercy House, Restoration Church, Genesis.” These are just few names that I pulled at random from the registration list. It’s amazing to look around the room during these events and realize that there is a church planting movement happening across the country, and Terra Nova gets to play to role in influencing that movement. What a huge responsibility that is. 

While non-terranovians will read this blog, we (your pastors) want to specifically thank the terra nova readers for allowing us the time and resources that make it possible for these things to take place. Through that you are impacting churches all over the northeast.
