Recently, Tom Corey traveled to the Ukraine to teach at a seminary. We asked him to share a little bit with us on his trip. Here are a few words. Tom and his wife Ann lead a New Tribe in Albany and are involved in numerous other ways at TN. He is currently finishing a Doctoral degree in Spiritual Formation. We are blessed to call Tom and Ann a part of our family.
TOM::

I was delayed two days in departure for Kiev by the snow story of March 16th. This meant the seminary president had to teach most of the first day of my class. Ukraine Biblical Seminary began in 1995. Today it serves more than 90 students from Ukraine, Uzbekastan, Azerbijan, Belarus, and as far away as Siberia. I was teaching a one week course called Spiritual Ethics to about 45 students. The other group was studying pre-Reformation Church History. The week was very intense as we discussed the severe problems facing Christians in these countries. The corruption in their governments means that lying, cheating, and stealing are necessary to get almost anything done in life. I felt that I was really able to connect with these wonderful brothers and sisters. Most of them have been pastors or Christian workers but were unable to get seminary training during the communist era. I was asked to come back in March 2008 to teach this same class to the other half of the seminary. It will be a joy to return. Thanks to everyone who prayed for me. Your encouragement and prayers were vitally needed.
