Here are 4 ways we are currently seeing a way to help – if you are interested in any of these – details on each are outlined below.
1.  Give Finances
2.  Give Blood
3.  Give Time
4.  Give Prayers

1.  Give Finances:  If you are able – please make a donation to Terra’s Benevolence Fund HERE on the City. 100% of the donations made between now and 11/15/12 will be directed to the benevolence and relief efforts at Jacob’s Well in New Brunswick, NJ.  Terra Nova will cover all the adminstrative fees and tax reporting.

Jacob’s Well is led by Reid Monaghan – who also serves as the New Jersey Director for the Acts 29 Network.  The men at Terra will remember Reid as he spent 3-days teaching and encouraging us on the men’s retreat this year.

As the New Jersey Director for the Acts 29 Network, Reid is coordinating relief efforts to some of the harder hit A29 churches & communities.  You can go HERE  and read a full update from Reid.

2.  Give Blood:  The American Red Cross has cancelled 100 blood drives as a result of this storm.  You view the CNN report on this HERE.  Our friends at Temple Baptist Church are hosting a blood drive on November 10th from 6:30am to 1:30pm.  You can also go HERE to search for other blood drives that may be in your area in the next few weeks.

3.  Give Time:  Several of you have expressed interest in traveling to NJ to help in the recovery work and rebuilding.  We are in contact with Reid at Jacob’s Well and other church network friends in an effort to determine when and where volunteer help will be needed.  As we know from other storms, the need for help will extend far into the future.  If you are interested in being part of a team of volunteers to go and put in some potentially hard labor – please email me, Pastor Paul Gordon.  We will start a separate City Message stream as we collect more volunteers and get more information from our friends in NJ.

4.  Give Prayers:  Lastly, please pray.  Pray that the challenges facing our brothers and sisters would ultimately cause many to turn to God for help and that the Church will readily respond with the mercy of Christ and the message of Christ.

Thanks and if you have any further questions, please let me know.

Pastor Paul

ACTS 29 REGIONAL EVENT | day of details http://terranovachurch.org/blog/2010/11/acts-29-regional-event-day-of-details/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=acts-29-regional-event-day-of-details http://terranovachurch.org/blog/2010/11/acts-29-regional-event-day-of-details/#comments Sun, 07 Nov 2010 22:34:43 +0000 Terra Nova Church http://terranovachurch.org/?p=2742 Perhaps you are signed up to attend the Acts 29 Regional Event at Terra Nova on Monday Nov. 8th and you have visited our website to find out things like . . .

Where is Terra Nova? We are located at 409 River Street, Troy, NY. Look for the Terra Nova signs on the sidewalk. The break out sessions are in our office/education/gallery space. (Look for the big “E” for Education). The main sessions are in Revolution Hall (look for the sidewalk sign that says that Acts 29).

Where am I supposed to park? You can park in a few places. There is a small lot across the street from Revolution Hall. (Look for the Terra Nova Church parking sign.) There is a ton of street parking within walking distance if you look around (It looks sketchier than it actually is.) Avoid the lots at the end of the block by the silver bridge as the city occasionally tickets people there.

What are the times again? Registration opens at 11AM. Lunch is served at 11:30AM. Worship begins at 12NOON.

I need coffee, where can I get it? If you are not too picky, Deli-icious Cafe sells coffee right on our block. Also, there is a Starbucks in the lobby of the Franklin Plaza. (You can see it from where Terra Nova is located).

Can I bring someone last minute? We’ll do our best to make it work.

UPDATE FROM CHURCH PLANTER | marc pilon http://terranovachurch.org/blog/2010/09/update-from-church-planter-marc-pilon/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=update-from-church-planter-marc-pilon http://terranovachurch.org/blog/2010/09/update-from-church-planter-marc-pilon/#comments Wed, 15 Sep 2010 19:31:41 +0000 Phil Taylor executive pastor http://terranovachurch.org/?p=2644 Terra Nova Church supports Marc Pilon who is planting in Sherbrooke, QB, Canada. This past weekend they launched the beginning of their core gatherings. Here is an update that Marc sent out. Praise God for the way that your generous giving is being used in this community of Quebec.

Axe21′s public launch is scheduled for January and we hope to send some Terra people there to encourage them.

Dear supporters,

Yesterday we held our first Sunday service. It was incredibly encouraging for me to see everyone getting involved and helping out. When I entered the building where we have our kids program, to see all these people coming together and work as the body of Christ was beautiful and all I wanted to do was praise God for the work He’s doing in the lives of His children.

It was very encouraging to see all the different ministries unfolding, and every member doing its part.

Close to a 150 people showed up for this first Sunday, which was above our expectations and the atmosphere was very fun and pleasant. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.

We started out a series on called TRUTH, which aims at helping Christians re-establishing the truths of the Gospel and helping them build their lives on those truths. This past Sunday the emphasis was on the fact that GOD IS the source and judge of all truth, NOT ME. Next Sunday we’re dealing with the lies we believe about our identity and how we must replace those lies with the truths of our identity in Christ.

Pray that the Spirit of truth would guide us into all the truth and that our hearts will be inclined to want to hear and live according to the truth.

Thanks so much for your prayers.

We still have much work ahead of us, but we are very excited and looking forward to our public launch which should be held on the 30th of January.

We love you and are thankful to God for your partnership with us for the advancement of the Gospel in the province of Quebec!

On Dec. 6th, you met Marc Pilon who is planting in Sherbrooke, QB, Canada. (get the full story and video on Mark here.) This past sunday on Dec. 13th, we introduced you to Kevin Maloney who is planting Grace Road Church in Rochester, NY’s “south wedge” neighborhood. If you missed the video, you can watch it below. We are asking you to return all contributions to this church planting effort by December 20th. 100% will be split between these two churches before the year ends. We are excited to partner with these men and their teams over the next 3 years.
